Which was awesome. We have a member in our ward who used to give tours
and he offered to take us. So we went down and went to the battery and
to the market, and a crazy good seafood place called Hyman's. And a
few other touristy things. But it was super fun! And we got to get out
and see the city! Which was awesome.
then Elder Kirby stayed in Moncks Corner with me for exchanges, and he
goes home next week. So it was his last exchange ever! Which is nuts.
But it was pretty fun! We saw a lot of people, and played some
volleyball which is always good.
Wednesday we were still on exchanges
and it was pouring rain! So we got soaked. I mean, just, soaked. It
was pretty fun! We also got to give a blessing to a less active member
who was getting ready to go in for surgery. It was pretty cool and
super awesome to see her exercise her faith like that.
Thursday was
pretty standard. We went to Mepkin, then had the family history booth
and then Book of Mormon class! Which is always a fun day!
big service day! We went in the morning to help a less active member.
He had a stroke recently and has some other health problems. So he
can't really get up and walk. But he wants to gain his strength back.
So we went over and helped him stand up and walk around. After that,
we went to a members house and helped her sort her garage which was
pretty interesting! She was throwing out a bunch of stuff she didn't
want anymore. So we acquired a lot of yarn. Like, a ton of yarn. Like
a oh my goodness why would you ever need that much yarn. As well as
some crochet hooks. So hopefully we will learn how to crochet haha.
I've seen some awesome crochet ties and I want to learn to make them!
We also got some beanie babies, which is awesome.
Saturday was pretty low key. We did a lot of finding haha.
going to church. And Sunday night we had a stake priesthood meeting
about family search and doing family history. Which was awesome! I did
some awesome studying this week. One thing I really liked was in 3
Nephi 5. Mormon is writing about the things that are happening and he
puts in a little piece, just a few verses, about what he is doing. He
pretty simply states, something to the effect of: "and so I'm here to
do God's work. To participate in bringing souls to Christ so that we
may all be blessed". I'm paraphrasing, but it was something like that.
But it was a great week! I love you all and miss you tons! Have a
great week!
