The Corner

Hello everyone! This week was pretty good! Monday we found out about transfers for this week. My companion and I both stayed in Moncks Corner, but one of the sisters serving here  (Sister Goettsche) got transferred to Conway.

So Tuesday was her last day in paradise (the corner). me and Elder Griffiths did some service in the morning and spent the whole afternoon in finding mode. Which was as fun as it can be haha. Then a member took us and the sisters to cracker barrel for a farewell dinner for Sister Goettsche which was pretty fun.

Wednesday they went up to transfers and picked up Sister Kniffen. We had a few appointments set up throughout the day Wednesday but they fell through in one way or another. We even had a service appointment fall through. I didn't even know that was possible, but here we are haha. So, because of our appointments falling through we spent most of the day finding which went alright. We met a few people, and some very nice people. Which is always good! Sadly no one willing to hear the message of the restored gospel though.

Thursday was a typical Thursday in the corner. We spent the morning at Mepkin Abbey which was pretty fun. We spread a lot of mulch haha. Then in the afternoon we went to the family history booth and tried to take about family history! That went pretty well. We do the booth with the sisters and we take turns walking around the market talking to people. And as a result I am now friends with quite a few of the vendors which is pretty fun. We met a guy who makes pork products, like bacon and sausage and stuff, and he gave us some to try and it was way good. That night we went to a members house and helped them move in a new bed and take care of some other stuff and that was great! We also went for shakes after which was much appreciated.

Friday we did some weekly planning and got most of this week scheduled out which is good! It will make daily planning much easier.

Saturday we spent most of the day helping get ready for a ward field day at one of the members homes. We were helping pick up food and tables and getting everything set up. Then the field day was a blast! We had a lot of people there, and plenty of hot dogs which is always good. And there were some intense games of corn hole and capture the flag. Sunday was great! Church was very uplifting and I am so grateful that I had the opportunity to take the sacrament again and renew my baptismal covenants. Overall great week!
